How Empoleon plays

Empoleon’s Unite Move, Sovereign Slide, sends Empoleon sliding at high speed in a designated direction, forming a whirlpool on impact and dealing damage to and throwing opposing Pokémon it hits. The whirlpool remains centered on Empoleon for a short time, applying a slowing effect to opposing Pokémon. While the whirlpool remains, the amount Empoleon’s Torrent gauge increases is greater.

For single Torrent consumption situations, if the whirlpool created by Torrent empowered Hydro Cannon is able to deal all six hits of damage, Torrent empowered Hydro Cannon into Aqua Jet will deal more damage than Torrent empowered Aqua Jet followed by Hydro Cannon. If needing to burst secure, Torrent empowered Aqua Jet followed by Hydro Cannon is the stronger secure. 1:1 itemization, Wise Glasses will beat Slick Spoon on damage. Accounting for any recovery, Curse Incense will beat Wise Glasses.
